This Post Might Make Some of You Angry …

  … and you know what?

I. DON’T. CARE.

For the second time this year, I’ve tested positive for COVID-19. I’ve done everything I’m supposed to - vaccinated twice, boosted thrice, and wear a mask when in public. I try to eat more healthy options (although I’m not always successful, admittedly).

So what gives?

I place the blame squarely on those of you who don’t take this virus seriously. Those of you who scream “it’s my body, my choice” and “you can’t force me to get vaccinated or wear a mask.” Those of you who refuse to believe this virus is dangerous, and “just a bad cold.”

You are fucking idiots.

I have family and friends who are among this group. And yes, I blame YOU!

Here’s the deal ... my safety and health are more important to me than your irrational fear of medical science or your “right” to not protect yourself and others from spread of diseases. I do not support your decision to be reckless, but I do respect your choices - as I expect you to respect my choice to not be around you until you come to your senses.

GET VACCINATED. WEAR A MASK WHEN IN PUBLIC.

Be responsible - not only for your own health, but also for those (like myself) who have weakened immune systems and at a higher risk of DEATH from COVID-19.

More COVID Stuff

It’s taken almost two weeks for me to start feeling relatively better. I still have nasal and chest congestion, although not nearly as bad as before. I also have been experiencing ear congestion for the last few days. Still no fever, thankfully.

Unfortunately, several members of my family - including my special needs grand nephew - have all recently tested positive. This virus is NO JOKE y’all! Even if you are vaccinated and boosted, as I was, you are susceptible! Stay vigilant. Wear a mask when out in public. And if you do test positive, by all means ask for your medical professional for a PAXLOVID prescription.

On The Mend

Finally on the mend, it seems. As moderately severe as my symptoms have been, I shudder to think how bad this could’ve been where I’m not vaccinated and doubly boosted. Having underlying health issues, such as asthma and diabetes, I knew it was inevitable that I would become infected with COVID at some point, regardless of how diligent I was being. I am eternally grateful for modern medicine and our medical community.

COVID

Well, it took 829 days … but Ms. Rona finally has come to my household. I took a test yesterday as I was feeling a little run down, but it was negative. Woke up today feeling worse, so I tested again. Guess I’m quarantining at home for a while now.

Masks and COVID-19

This is a short - but very important - post.

I have a compromised immune system. I have family members who have severely compromised immune systems. I have friends in the same boat, including my gentleman friend. Please ... be compassionate and responsible. Continue wearing a mask while in public. Get vaccinated. Get tested for COVID-19 regularly (I test once a week, at least).

We have seen that COVID-19 kills indiscriminately. Don't be the reason someone you know gets sick and dies.

I went to the GAME OF THRONES exhibit at the Arlington Museum of Art yesterday with my friends Chris and Frank. It was a much needed aftern...
